Down by the River Poem

Down by the river
Kids sit and shiver

The trees grow high
Up in the sky

Where the birds sing a song
That's nice and long

The fish are happy
While the kids chew a chappie

Then came a boat
That was sure to float

On the side of the river bank
They grabbed a bowl of fish and through them in a dish

They caught the birds and cut off their wings
Now they were only worthless things

They told the kids they can't stay
Then they went away

Down by the river bank
It's silent and blank

Until suddenly all the animals and kids came back
Now they were again a happy pack.
